Joomla: Quality and Testing Working Group Changes

Submitted By Bryan Ruby August 11, 2006

Louis Landis of the Joomla! team recently posted about the current and future role Joomla's quality and testing working group should have with the project. His goal is to have the working group become more productive with a clear purpose and focus. He sees the group to become more technical and suggests a task list by priorities which include:

  1. Test for security vulnerabilities in 1.0.x
  2. Test for quality issues in 1.0.x
  3. Test for security vulnerabilities in 1.5
  4. Document security procedures for server configuration as well as programming practices
  5. Test for quality issues in 1.5

The final outcome Landis hopes for is to improve the Joomla! release cycles as well as inter-working group communications. He makes a lot of other additional points that could used to improve not only the working groups for Joomla, but other CMS projects as well. You can read his complete post by clicking here.
