ImpressCMS impressed me so much that I decided to add it to CMS Report's CMS Focus. ImpressCMS pushed XOOPS off of this list!
Some of the XOOPS fans thought I was being too harsh on XOOPS by knocking it off my top 30 list. When I took a look at ImpressCMS (a fork of XOOPS) I was impressed with some of the new directions the project has taken since its departure from XOOPS. I knew I wanted to put ImpressCMS on my top 30 CMS list, but in order to put one into CMS Focus I have to take another CMS off the list. I choose to take XOOPS of the list.
After some discussion with "mamba", I have realized that I may have been premature in taking XOOPS out my top 30 list. So as of today, XOOPS is back on the list. Putting XOOPS on the list bumps off Dragonfly from CMS Focus.
This has been a very cold week in the Dakotas. Sunday morning the temperature dropped to around -14 degrees Fahrenheit (that's around -26 degrees Celsius). These are real temperatures and not wind chill.
Needless to say, I am not spending a whole lot of time outside this month. However, these cold temperatures are very geek friendly. I am spending my time at the computer and getting some very needed things done.
Some of the items I have been working on that may be of interest to you:
I am starting to make some decisions on where I want to take CMS Report
from here. I'm considering to go more "professional" with the site.
The changes I would like to make may involve some willingness on my part to partner with someone
who has similar interests and more experience in these matters.
I received an email from CPG Dragonfly CMS advocate, Dizfunkshunal. He observed that we do not cover Dragonfly here too much. Sadly, Dizfunkshunal is correct in his observation, in the past we have posted only a few articles regarding Dragonfly. How did this happen?
Articles regarding a particular content management system get posted on this site by two significant groups of people. Those two groups of people that have the power to put focus on a specific CMS are you and me. The 30 CMS that I am most impressed with today are listed on my site is the left-sidebar under "CMS Focus". This list has changed and will continue to change over time. If you want to help change that list then help persuade me either through comments or by submitting your own stories to CMSReport.com.
"Dragonfly CMS is taking the pledge along with lots of other large projects. The deadline for switching to PHP 5, as set out by gophp5.org, is February, 5th 2008. At the time of writing, that gives an ample amount of time to get up to date with PHP."
"Here is a 35 minute video tutorial by TreasureCoastDesigns.com on how to install DragonflyCMS. The tutorial begins at downloading the correct stable core version from the DragonflyCMS website and takes you step by step through setting up a database, installation of DragonflyCMS, and then some basic tips on administration once you are up and running."
"Hi all, There is now an upgrade for the subscriptions module! At version 2.2.0 now, some needed changes have been made. New Version Download Read on for changes details"
