Ephox Upgrades the Web Production Experience at the IBM Portal Excellence Conference

New WebRadar Version 2.0 Provides Powerful Insights into IBM Lotus Web Content Management System

CHICAGO, Ill. and PALO ALTO, Calif. — July 19, 2010Ephox, a leading provider of software for upgrading the web production experience, today announced the next version of WebRadarat the IBM Portal Excellence Conference. With WebRadar 2.0, companies gain critical insights into their Web Content Management (WCM) systems to improve the productivity of website authors and administrators.

Building on its track record in web authoring software and successful partnership with IBM, Ephox has developed a flexible reporting solution for IBM® Lotus® Web Content Management. WebRadar enables IBM Lotus Web Content Management customers to analyze workflow processes and resolve issues before they become problems. The version 2.0 release brings new report customization options and an improved look and feel.

“Managing and publishing content, both internally and externally is becoming every organization’s second business and it is therefore increasingly critical for corporate operations to gain insight into their enterprise content and publication processes.” said Ian Truscott, Senior Analyst with Gilbane Group, a division of Outsell Inc. “Identifying inefficiencies, like process bottlenecks and obsolete content is not something we’ve found to be a strength of content management systems today, yet this level of reporting is essential for organizations to understand the performance of their content driven business activities.”

Ephox Acquires WebRadar

Acquisition Enables New Proactive Management Capabilities for Web Content Management Systems

Ephox, a leading provider of software for improving web content management (WCM), today announced it has acquired the WebRadar product line from Web Presence Architects, a web strategy consulting firm.  With WebRadar, Ephox delivers a web content intelligence system that provides content administrators and project managers with an easy way to proactively monitor and manage their existing WCM solutions. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“Organizations implement WCM to more easily create, manage and publish web content. However, it has been very difficult to gain insight into the WCM systems themselves. Features such as reporting and batch updating tend to be very limited out of the box,” said Andrew Roberts, CEO of Ephox. “As WCM deployments mature and grow in size, we see the need for more intelligence to be applied to managing the system itself. This is an exciting area and Ephox is excited to be one of the first independent solution providers in this space.”

WebRadar helps web content administrators and project managers identify, fix, and monitor problems with WCM content and processes. For example, WebRadar can determine where the bottlenecks are in a particular process, which pages are expiring within a set timeframe, which content authors are actively using the system, and which pages are assigned to specific team members. The information gained from these types of reports can help content teams be more productive and efficient in managing web content, resulting in a web site that is up-to-date and accurate.
