The calendar is moving fast toward one of my favorite content management focused conferences, the 2013 CMS Expo which is hosted in Evanston, Illinois (near Chicago). This year, the conference will be held on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of May once again at the Hilton Orrington Hotel. Learning & Business Conference. This event is billed as a "Learning & Business" conference showcasing some of the world's leading content management systems and the people who power them. Whether the CMS you favor is proprietary or open source, focused on small business or enterprise, non-profit, government or commercial applications, there’s something for everyone at CMS Expo.
If you still need to register for CMS Expo, reading this article might help save you $100 from the full registration price.
Despite all the technology related companies in the Sioux Falls region, the one thing we've been missing is a great conference that really puts this city on everyone's map. That is why, thanks in parts to the effort of Blend Interactive, I'm expecting the Now What? Conference 2013 to be one of the most significant content related conferences I'll be attending this year. If your profession depends on web content and you know where Sioux Falls then I sincerely recommend you register for this event today. If by chance you miss the low early bird price, I wouldn't fret too much because even the standard price to attend is quite reasonable due to the high caliber of speakers that will be attending this conference.
One of the first conferences CMS Report will be sponsoring this year is the Content Strategies Summit being held in Miami Beach, March 20 - 22, 2013. My understanding is that this is a launch event which gives everyone the opportunity for leaders and attendees in the industry to come together and forge something new. This event is intended to rediscover the value of purposeful content that meets your business, brand, and user-experience goals.

The folks over at Netgen (Zagreb, Croatia) wanted me to make mention of the upcoming eZ Publish Summer Camp being held in Bol, Croatia from September 5th to 8th this year. Besides being supportive of almost any conference that promotes CMSs, I thought if my Croatian grandmother was still alive today she would be quite pleased I was talking about Croatia. This three day conference promises to address a number of needs for eZ Publish developers while also giving you a chance to also spend some vacation time in boat and wine country.
The eZ Publish Summer Camp offers three program tracks during the three day conference. For eZ beginners, the Basic Track offers the opportunity to create a simple web site in eZ Publish. During that workshop all core eZ concepts will be explained in theory and shown in practice. More experienced eZ developers will have the opportunity to follow the CMS Track or the PHP Track. The CMS Track topics cover from the latest tricks with eZ Find and Solr to squeezing out milliseconds with advanced caching and Varnish integration. The PHP track will focus on the new stuff coming in eZ Publish version 5, a new Public API, New REST API and more directly from the eZ Publish Skippers.
