mojoPortal: Help pick the next 10 mojoPortal skins

"Since releasing those 10 good looking skins the popularity of mojoPortal seemed to spike upwards fairly dramatically so I concluded that the time spent implementing those skins was well spent and the lack of good looking skins prior to that probably really was holding us back in terms of popularity...Currently we ship about 30 skins with mojoPortal, 10 of which are good looking and 20 that are just ok or mediocre, or just outdated looking. So I'm thinking its time to drop out most of the boring ones and do another round of 10 skin implementations to bring us up to 20 good looking skins."

Best Open Source non-PHP CMS: mojoPortal Wins, Plone second and Silva third

Packt Publishing is creating quite an exciting week in the world of open source content management systems.  The publishing company announced the winner of their Best Open Source Other CMS Award and it's mojoPortal!

Packt can exclusively reveal the second category winner of the Open Source Content Management System Award as mojoPortal, winning Best Other Open Source CMS. In another tight category, mojoPortal came out ahead of Plone and Silva who came second and third respectively.

Congratulations to mojoPortal for recieving the award.  mojoPortal holds dear to CMS Report's heart on the simple fact that it's project leader, Joe Audette, really was the very first project leader that sent us an e-mail to call attention to his content management system.  I feel like we've grown up together.

Same version of mojoPortal supporting once again .Net and Mono

Since most of the Web applications I run these days is on PHP I will fully admit that I don't know much about .Net and Mono applications.  However, I can recognize good news when I hear that it.  mojoPortal under a new version number can once again support more both the .Net and Mono platforms.  For developers and users of mojoPortal, life just got a little simpler.

Version 2.2.2.8 of mojoPortal was released this week and not only introduces the return of Mono support but additional features as well:
  • New Multi Sites Feature based on first folder after site root
  • New Feature for Visually Partitioning Sites
  • New Editor Provider Model now supporting use of both FCKeditor and TinyMCE (WYSIWYG editors)
  • Improved Markup Semantics and CSS Organization
  • A Few New Skins
  • Movement of the Admin section
Links for downloading mojoPortal 2.2.2.8 can be found on the mojoPortal download page.

One nice mojoPortal site

I saw this at mojoPortal.com:

The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) recently revamped their web site using mojoPortal.

The project was managed by DDB Seattle, which is part of DDB Worldwide Communications Group.

The designers did a nice job with this site. I have to admit that the mojoPortal sites are really starting to get a professional look to them. mojoPortal has come a long way since when we first started covering the news about their CMS a year ago. Go checkout mojoPortal and see for yourself.

mojoPortal: E-commerce Project Needs a Customer

The CMS mojoPortal is looking for someone to test, use, and possibly sponsor their new e-commerce features.  I'm sure someone is willing to help them out.
For the past 2 months I've been working very hard to implement e-commerce as a new feature for mojoPortal... Since I have no immediate need to use this feature myself I'm in a bit of a quandry as its hard to polish a feature that is not being used by real users and when no-one is available to provide feedback. So in short I'm looking for a new customer for this feature before I continue with any further development effort. I think having e-commerce will be a great feature and add to the popularity of mojoPortal but it will be hard to complete it until I have someone who wants to use it for actual e-commerce who is willing to provide testing and actual use and feedback.
