"Every now and then, we get a question how the current setup of Joomla! Websites is done. It has been on my ToDo list for quite a while to create a blog post about this, finally sat down for it.

The original design of sites & infrastructure back in 2005 basically had one goal “Keep it simple!”. This has proven to be a very good concept. The Joomla! Project has grown fast since then, and so did the traffic generated by the websites."
