Acquia Names Michael Sullivan CEO, Dries Buytaert Elevated to Chairman

Acquia announced the selection of Michael Sullivan as Chief Executive Officer, effective in December 2017. Sullivan, 52, has extensive experience in building market-leading, high-growth SaaS organizations and has led the acquisition and integration of numerous companies over the course of his career. He brings to Acquia 25 years of focused experience in content management, archival solutions, electronic discovery and enterprise content governance solutions, and joins Acquia as the company marks its 10th anniversary as a pioneer in cloud-based, open source web content management.

Centerview Capital invests $55 Million into Acquia

Acquia has announced that they have closed a $55 million equity financing round through the help of Centerview Capital Technology. Centerview Capital specializes in partnering with the management teams of midsize companies they see as "high potential" for growth. Centerview Capital Technology led the financing round, with support from existing investors including New Enterprise Associates and Split Rock Partners. This funding will help Acquia scale its global operations, sales and marketing as well as the development of its solutions for building, delivering, and optimizing digital experiences.

The Weather Channel is using Drupal and Acquia Platform

When I talk about Drupal, information technology and the weather all in the same breath, I'm known to be very enthusiastic and opinionated in such discussions. I can't help myself. I'm biased toward Drupal as it is one of my favorite content management systems. I'm also a former meteorologist working in information technology for a very large organization that is heavily involved with the weather. Needless to say, a year or two ago when I heard that The Weather Channel started using Drupal to meet the needs of it's customers and meteorologists, it caught my attention.
